A truffle was an item that was added to the Grand Exchange, Grand Exchange Database and Quick Chat despite being unobtainable in-game. The item was removed from the Grand Exchange on 29 September 2008.

Truffles were originally intended to be found using a Broav as part of the Summoning skill. However, the lack of time and use for the truffles caused the plan to be scrapped. The Broav was also not added in the initial release of Summoning, but was later added as a reward from While Guthix Sleeps while truffles were not. A pig familiar that hunted truffles was a reward considered for the Bringing Home the Bacon quest, however this dropped due to lack of a use for the truffles obtained.^[1]

Trivia

• The examine info refers to the movie The Goonies, where one of the characters must do a dance called the "truffle shuffle" to gain entry into the main character's house.
• Wild truffles are usually located with trained pigs, similar to the Broav.

• On 2 September 2008 the truffle's price somehow increased by 10 coins, bringing the market price up to 210 coins, despite it being impossible to obtain and trade the item.
