76king or 76k'ing (known as "26k"ing in F2P worlds) refers to a PKing technique that was done within a PvP world in which two players swapped kills from each other to take advantage of the PvP drop system to obtain large amounts of coins with little effort.

Requirements

75,000 coins was the minimum amount of value a player needed to risk in order to obtain rewards with PKing. This was intended by Jagex to reward players for killing other players also risking the same amount, but Jagex couldn't force players to actually fight rather than kill a friend carrying the necessary amount.

First, a player needed to gain Earning Potential (EP) by being in a PvP world. When a player reached the desired Earning Potential, they would find another player willing to do the 76king.(Finding a player that wouldn't scam you was very hard) Each player would bring at least 75,000 coins as well as any other invaluable item (which made the total worth rounded up to equal 76,000 coins) so they both met the criteria of having the opportunity of staking a high amount in order to obtain a good drop. They then each took turns killing each other to obtain good drops with little risk involved.

History

When PvP worlds were first released many players earned many millions of coins with items such as the Dragonfire shield being on the drop table. Later, these items were removed but players still continued to use the trick for easy cash in a short amount of time.
